Because of the harsh realities brought about by recent economic upheavals, many Ososo people have found existence very harsh. Some of our aged mothers, who is a member of the vulnerable in society, can barely have two square meals a day. The Ososo Charity Outlet, established in November 2023, is our own response to this problem because we felt the need for Ososo to have an organization whose sole aim is to provide much-needed support to the people of Ososo, a town in Edo State, Nigeria. Having made some quarterly donations, culminating in December 2023, we are pleased to announce the official launch of this charity on August 13, 2024. It might interest you to know that one of the beneficiaries of the bags of rice and sanitary pads we donated in 2023, an old woman, one of the poorest of Ososo’s poor, confessed in tears that she had never received a gift of that nature in a long while. Sadly, she passed on only weeks after she received the donation. This and many more such stories have further enforced our resolve to do more for our people on a quarterly basis, especially considering the cost of living in Nigeria today, which is incredibly high and unaffordable for the majority of our population. It is much worse in the villages, where families are in dire need. We aim to provide more frequent support to families, homes, and schools. But we also realize we cannot do it alone.
