The fabric of our society is held together by our shared religion and beliefs. Our religion has helped in giving meaning and purpose to life, reinforcing social unity and stability, serving as an agent of social control of behavior, promoting physical and psychological well-being, and motivating people to work for positive social change. Yet, our religious centers especially those in our rural communities are neglected and are not spared from the limitations of the National Grid that has left many rural communities without electricity. To develop and further encourage our religious centers in our rural communities, ASOLAR, an indigenous solar company is raising funds to light up our Mosques in rural communities with solar energy. Through this initiative, we will be training indigenes in our rural communities about solar systems, their benefits, and how to install them. We encourage well-meaning Nigerians, and indeed anyone interested to donate to the Light Up Our Mosques Initiative.
