Dear Friends,

I am Donald Duke and I am running for the Office of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the general elections in Nigeria next year, under the platform of the Social Democratic Party, with a zeal to transform the current state of affairs in the Country.

Indeed, like most of you, I am deeply concerned with the dire extent of neglect in the country, social, economic and political, which elicits a feeling of dissatisfaction and disappointment in the general populace. A state of affairs that begs the question: ‘is this the best we can do? Do we have only two political parties in the country? Are these parties really working for us? If not, what are our options?’

I believe only an invested leader with a proven track record can bring about sustained improvement in job creation , health, education, social justice, public transportation and infrastructure; a visionary leader, one with the strategy and extraordinary political will, one with proven capacity to nurture, unite and harness the potential of our people, one who can develop creative and effective ways to explore and exploit the country’s raw material to its full potential for the benefit of all Nigerians.

I have spent the past 3 decades working assiduously in the private and public sectors to tackle issues confronting us as a people. In my 8 years as Governor of Cross River State (1999-2007), the State, its people and economy recorded massive improvements, placing Cross River State on the map as one to be reckon with in the fields of tourism, agriculture, education, health and physical infrastructure.

Of course, many Nigerians are aware of political and social exploits by our self- serving leaders, but there are multitudes who aren’t; for example, the uninformed who would otherwise be influenced by social groups, the uneducated who would be cajoled by unscrupulous politicians for their votes and lots more. Now, should we close our eyes as we keep recycling tired and grossly incompetent leaders simply because they have privileged access to a mass section of the electorate? Should we fold our arms and watch them manipulate vulnerable Nigerians using funds acquired through questionable means to secure people’s votes?

I am about to ask you to do something very, very important. I am asking you to make a contribution to help elect me, Donald Duke, President of Nigeria in 2019.
