Healing Hands Health Society ( www.hhands.org ) instituted the Feed the Hungry Project to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians during the lockdown On the 8th May 2020, we visited Amassoma village in Bayelsa State led by our ministry partner Dr. Onotume Okemena Esther. We provided food items to the vulnerable population; the aged, children, widows. During outreach, we, encountered Hannah Peremoboere 3-year-old girl. Hannah accidentally fell into fire when she went with her mum for bush burning in their farm months ago. She sustained severe burns on her hands, legs and abdomen. Due to financial constraints, her parents couldn’t take her to the hospital so they resorted to buying medicines from the local medicine dealers . The chemist offered dressing until her wounds became complicated. She has lost some of her fingers. We have resolved to bring Hannah’s case before kindhearted citizens. It is our prayer that Hannah’s quality of Life will be altered positively. We have arranged for a preliminary medical evaluation to determine the cost of her rehabilitation. Plastic Surgeon's Conclusion The conservative cost of each stage, including surgery, investigations, wound care and consultations with physiotherapy and anesthesia teams is placed at between N800,000 only. We call on kindhearted people all over the world especially Nigerians to please join your faith with ours. Don't give up on Hannah. Let's give her a chance to function again. God bless you all, as you reach out to her Uvoh Onoriobe Email: info@hhands.org Efekemo Ighoteguono Tel: 08023229290

Thanks to all who have given to this cause. In 6 weeks, Hannah will have her surgery. Thanks to many anonymous donors also for your kind gesture. Federal Medical Center, Yenagoa Bayelsa State is where the first stage surgery will be performed. Praying there will be no more threat of industrial action by Doctors in Nigeria. The cases of Corona virus has hampered the progress of Hanna's treatment. We are hoping that the curve will be indeed flat so we can return to life as normal.

PRELIMINARY SURGICAL REPORT ON HANNAH I write concerning Hannah, the 3-year-old girl who was involved in a fire incident, and is being prepared for surgical intervention as part of her rehabilitative process. From my review of the pictures sent to me and the video, I have made the following conclusions: She amongst other injuries sustained burn wounds to both hands which have healed in a manner that is severely limiting the function in both hands, right more than the left. It appears that the wounds have not completely healed yet The resulting scar and limitations will require extensive scar revision, a process which should be performed in stages in order to obtain the best possible outcome From the pictures at least five stages or surgical revision will be required to obtain optimal results. Between each stage, there will be a period of at least 6 weeks to allow for the healing process from the previous surgery to advance. Each stage will comprise scar release and wound resurfacing with a flap or a graft as the occasion serves. That to make a definite pronouncement on the care plan, I will require to have a consultative session with her involving history taking, physical examination and relevant investigations. Having made these recommendations, it must be noted that each surgical stage will be performed under general anesthesia, and require a 10 to 14 days hospital admission period on all occasions. The conservative cost of each stage, including surgery, investigations, wound care and consultations with physiotherapy and anesthesia teams is placed at N800,000 naira only. I would consider it to be an honor to be part of her rehabilitative process.

  • Thanks for all who have given thus far. We have been to the hospital a couple of times. The surgery is being planned for 6 weeks time after weekly physiotherapy. This case continues to touch hearts around the nation. I have a dream that Hannah will someday be able to write and color. Who will join us to make this a reality? This is a worthy cause!
